Dr. Denise Goodman is originally from Long Island, New York. She’s passionate about discovering new technologies, such as laser therapy, to help make dentistry more comfortable and effective for patients of all ages. As someone who had a difficult time at the dentist’s office as a child, Dr. Goodman prioritizes the patient experience for everyone in her care. She has also trained in orthodontics as well as in the repair of traumatic injuries, and she looks forward to contributing her time to fundraisers like Dancing with the Dentists, in which she was recently a contestant.
Dr. Goodman has been extensively educated and trained in several fields of dentistry, particularly pediatric dentistry. She obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees at State University of New York at Buffalo. She also researched at Roswell Park Cancer Research Institute in Buffalo as part of a grant-funded project from the National Institutes of Health. In 1979, Dr. Goodman earned her DMD from Tufts University of Dental Medicine. It is during her training there that Dr. Goodman became interested in pediatric dentistry and the unique challenges and rewards that providing dental care for children can bring. After she completed her dental degree at Tufts, Dr. Goodman went on to Harbor–UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles to earn her specialty degree in pediatric dentistry in 1981.
